Women- Part 1

Written by: Likitha Reddy

'Then the creation recognized its Creator in its own forms and appearances. For in the beginning, when God said, “Let it be!” and it came to pass, the means and the matrix of creation was Love, because all creation was formed through Her as in the twinkling of an eye.’
-The Holy Spirit as Sapientia St. Hildegard von Bingen

Women, according to more or less every human being’s subconscious characterization (both male and female), are substandard mortals  who were created to serve the other gender by submissively lending them their bodies whenever required and satisfying every man’s physical and social needs. They are expected to function according to ludicrous stereotypes that were etched into the very reality of mankind, keep their uteruses running until their biological clock ceases to tick and take care of their spawns.

Child-rearing factories and spawning-machines are synonymous to women.

Well, that may sound outlandish, but sorrowfully, it is TRUE. Though not many acknowledge it, this picture of women runs in the blood of almost every human being. I might call them wretched, but when I came to think of it, it was not completely their fault.

When a child is fed with garbage right from his/her birth, he/she will obviously prefer to eat garbage later in life.

What could poor humans do when the very foundations of the society were built on this characterization of women; and right from their origin they were led to believing that women are not as fine as men, they’re destined to stay at home, take care of their family and breed?  I’m not saying that only men are responsible for this erroneous misunderstanding; women with the wrong mindset are equally to blame.

Everywhere you look, from your own house to the Film Industry, women endure indescribable inequality, from working conditions to wages. In almost every movie, the lead role is always given to a male, and the woman has to make do with the role of a sidekick, assisting and serving the male protagonist. And a man ALWAYS gets more remuneration than a woman, even though they do the same amount of work. In identity cards like PAN Cards, VISAs, Passports, Driving Licenses etc., there is always a slot for either the Father’s name or the Husband’s name of the candidate. Nowhere in the world do people ask a man the name of his mother or wife.

Men who depend on women for a livelihood are called wimps and non-masculine. Why?  Why is a woman always a sign of flaw? Why are crying men compared to women and poltroons?

Is a woman some kind of virus or is being a woman so immoral that a man cannot rely on her?

Why women are called sluts and whores when they wear shorts or transparent clothes when men who wear them are called hot and masculine? Why a woman’s choice of clothing is a reason for her being brutally raped and murdered when a man’s clothes have nothing to do with him being murdered? Are women not born the same way men are born? Are they not made of the same flesh and bones that men are made of? Then why, in a prostitution case, only the woman’s name is out in the public, and not the man’s, who is just as culpable?

Why does a woman have to leave her house after getting married, and not a man? Why is a woman shamed in public for not wanting kids, but a man is commended for standing up for himself? Why can’t it be the same for a woman? Why is a woman scorned for losing her virginity when a man is not? Why, in most religious practices, women are given the back seat? What about the Sacred Feminine? Why are widows tortured and blamed for the death of their husbands, when widowers are encouraged to re-marry as soon as their wife dies? Why is the head of the family always the eldest male, and not a woman?

Torture is a prodigious understatement of what the women, or rather; the sex slaves of Afghanistan were put through by the Taliban.

  4. This was an amazing article I've read but don't you think that all this which you've written in your article is too old and it doesn't happen anymore? And these days women are being given equal rights as men and they are misusing their rights and many men are being torchered by feminists.

    1. Not necessarily old. Still happens. And as mentioned it was mostly inspired by a book which spoke about the opression of women. It might have reduced. Hasn't been gone altogether.

About the Hillsong Peace Music Video - Rant

On the 2 nd of March 2018, Hillsong Young and Free released their first music video  that spoke of the issue of mental health which clearly wasn’t the type of video you would expect to see on a Christian Music channel. While I found the song to be extremely soothing, with the hate and false alarms being triggered around the video being dark, cultic (which I heard a little too much) or displaying creepy ghosts and bloody rain (laugh, if you like) I thought I’d break down portions of the video and explain it because oddly enough I’ve seen too many response videos and read too many articles and comments of people over-analysing the symbols on the video instead of receiving the message of God’s peace especially for those who struggle with anxiety on a mental health level. “I think for a really long time I didn’t understand what anxiety is. When I look back at my whole life I feel like I can see traces of this for as long as I can remember but it wasn’t diagnosed until I ...

My Journey Exploring the Theory of Evolution

(Prologue) What could be my stance on evolution? This was something I repeatedly wanted to address but I was usually unsure if it would find relevance on my blog. Firstly, because I’m not a theologian. And secondly because I just thought most people were way past that. For some reason I assumed this was not an argument among Christians anymore (wow, I know, my ignorance) and we’ve moved onto weightier issues. However, that is really not the case. I have seen people both within and outside the scientific community that think evolution is some sort of a tale or a conspiracy theory, sometimes even having “scientific” theories of their disapproval of the same. So here it goes!   During my days in school, I, like every other child, thought that evolution was simply a theory supported by loosely based facts and wasn’t something I should be too bothered about as a good Christian kid. I genuinely believed that Darwin and the rest of the evolutionists only wanted to have a go...

Suicidal - Rant

I was born suicidal. Hang in there. Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those people with cuts all over my body trying to earn sympathy for what I am. I'm just trying to write something about myself, something I've never dared to write down or talk about. So please bear with me if you can. I was born suicidal. Writing it down itself makes me form a lump in my throat - it isn't something I'd like to read or easily admit. It's usually something I like to stay away from pretending like it doesn't exist, locking it safe somewhere at the the back of the collection of my childhood memories where I wouldn't want to remember that I thought differently about death. As a kid, I thought everyone just wanted to die. No really, every single person just wanted to die. I still remember when I was probably 3 (may be 5) I was watching a cartoon where a character was trying to save his life and like the questioning child I always was I remember asking my dad rep...
